The Weekend Update

Holy cats friends, a lot sure has happened in three days. First off, if you haven't heard yet, I was able to get an article I wrote published on relevantmagazine.com! Not going to lie, it's pretty exciting business. Last time I checked, it was on the front page under Progressive Culture, but in case that changes later today, the article is entitled "Crazy Liberals and Conservative Jerks," but you can just click here to check it out. But for real, talk about surreal.

In other news, it turns out I don't know squat about movies. I'm almost embarrassed to leave my Oscar picks up since I did so lousy on it all. You can go here to see the full results, but let's just say I got 9 right, which is a whopping 38 percent. That is definetitly and F. Fail. It's a good thing I don't claim to be an expert on movies.

But onto things that I can pretend I know at least a little about. There is a lot of conversation going on lately about the Emerging Church, but one of the things that frustrates me is the content of the conversation.  Most of it is just biased opinions, with no real examination or scholarship. It's like a bunch of blind people leading around the blind, but the secret they don't know is that they are in a Colosseum, so they are just going around in circles! Over the weekend, I ran into some pretty good articles on the Emerging Church, that look at it from the most neutral position there is (if there is one). Scot McKnight wrote a fantastic article looking at this trend and the pros and cons, which you can find here. If you are more of the visual type, you can find another article here, even with diagrams!

I'll stop there so I don't get on the verge of overwhelming. I'll be back on Wednesday with more original content and thoughts. Until then!

Just read your article on Relevant and I just have to say Amen. I agree with you completely. Thanks for the words.
